The Subaru Brat was made solely for export, and achieved tremendous popularity in the U.S. market in the 1970s. Tamiya first produced an R/C version of this popular little truck back in 1983 and is now proud to present an updated, improved re-release of this classic R/C truck. Aside from the upgraded internal parts, this assembly kit comes with a driver figure for a nostalgic feel. In addition, both a super-detailed resin body for shelf display and a lightweight durable polycarbonate body for racing are included.The unique space frame chassis features a 4-wheel independent suspension system with front double wishbones and rear trailing arms. The rear suspension in particular has been updated with the diaphragm type oil dampers and coil springs. A 540 Type motor drives the differential-equipped gearbox, and the drive shaft features a dog bone joint for optimum transmission efficiency. The ready-to-run Axial® Capra™ 1.9 Unlimited Trail Buggy is a “new from the ground up” design that any RC enthusiast eager for cutting-edge crawling will appreciate. Its Currie F9 Portal Axles provide extra ground clearance at the diff pumpkin for the best crawling performance. With the included Spektrum™ STX3 3-channel transmitter and DIG transmission, you can also switch on the fly between 4WD and FWD — locking the rear axle whenever you need the tighter turning radius of front drive power. The Capra features a realistic tube chassis design and metal gears everywhere, from the center transmission to the lockers and portal axles. It rides on real-world inspired Nitto Trail Grappler 1.9 tires mounted to licensed Raceline 3-piece molded beadlock wheels.
